Born from Passion. Perfected by Fire

The original concept was created over 25 years ago by inventor Jim Blomberg, blending his passion for wood-fired BBQ with 40 years of engineering expertise. Originally inspired by Portuguese-style offset wood fire cooking seen in California’s Delta region, the Markhor features patented Flame Control for precise, live-fire cooking that also captures the joy of a campfire. Built on a mission of quality, performance, and ease of use, the Markhor lets you confidently cook anything—from BBQ to pizza—with the control of an oven and the flavor of real wood fire.

GrOVen is Born

2014-2019

The original GrOven model introduced several enhancements, including an oven door, four cooking racks, a slide-out grease tray, an adjustable vent on the sliding lid, a cooking grate and a fold-down cover for the firebox. This model also debuted the patented Flame Control system, using the sliding lid to generate a strong draft that could redirect flames into the oven when needed—perfect for grilling over open fire.

The second version of the GrOven was refined with a full wrap of 300-series stainless steel and upgraded with 1.5-inch ceramic fire blanket insulation for improved heat retention. Design improvements included a pneumatic hinged lid with a significantly larger vent and a new fold-down oven door for easier access.

MARKHOR - the G.O.A.T. has arrived

2024

While the previous GrOven was already a powerhouse, this latest model takes it to the next level. It now features a versatile, multi-configuration oven that lets you cook on up to three grates, hang meats using rods and hooks, or combine both methods. The small grate above the firebox has been replaced with a full Santa Maria–style adjustable grill and a height-adjustable rotisserie. It also includes three built-in workstation shelves, a griddle insert, stainless steel skewers for kabobs, and a firebrick-insulated firebox with a lid for controlling airflow—perfect for long, low-and-slow cooks. All wrapped in durable 304 stainless steel and insulated with a 2300°F-rated ceramic fire blanket for maximum heat retention and performance.
